Loray Daws, MA, PhD, DPsa

Director of Studies, Parkmore Institute

Dr Daws earned an M.A. in Clin. Psych and a PhD in Psychotherapy (Psychodynamic) at the University of Pretoria (South Africa) before earning a M.Phil. degree in the Philosophy and Ethics of Mental Health at the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pretoria. He is a registered clinical psychologist in both South Africa and British Columbia, Canada. Since 1998, Dr. has served as a lecturer at the University of Pretoria and held multiple teaching appointments at major universities. Dr Daws has become internationally known not only for his work on Rorschach methodology but also for his role as Co-Director of the South African Masterson Institute for the Study of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, where he studied under Dr Masterson and his faculty in New York. Since 2009, Dr Daws resided on Vancouver Island in Canada, while still teaching and supervising in South Africa, the United States, Australia, Russia, and Turkey, as well as across Canada. He holds editorial positions with various scientific journals such as the International Journal of Psychotherapy, Issues in Psychoanalytic Psychology, the South African Rorschach Journal, and Clinical Counselling and Contemporary Psychotherapy. He has written and edited nine books on psychoanalysis and existentialism and serves, with Keri Cohen, as chief editor of the Michael Eigen Series at Routledge. Dr Daws completed the three-year postgraduate psychoanalytic psychotherapy certificate in the study of disorders of self at the Masterson Institute in New York, and since 2010 has served as a faculty member of the International Masterson Institute. Dr Daws also completed his formal psychoanalytic training at the Institute for Object Relations Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis in New York and serves as faculty and board member. Dr Daws was awarded the Parkmore Institute’s Doctorate in Psychoanalytic Studies for his work on Michael Eigen.

Kristin Long, DPsa, RDT/BCT, LCAT, LP

Director of Studies, Parkmore Institute

Kristin Long is a highly experienced psychoanalyst and drama therapist, recognized for her commitment to expressive analysis and creative arts therapy. She is the co-founder and co-director of Harris and Long Psychotherapy, a group practice in New York City that integrates creative arts into psychodynamic treatment for children, adolescents, families, and adults. Dr. Long holds a doctorate in Psychoanalytic Studies from The Parkmore Institute and is a Fellow of the Institute. She is a faculty member and supervisor at The Institute for Expressive Analysis, where she teaches courses on the therapeutic use of the body and expressive analysis with children and adolescents. Additionally, she teaches a class on projective techniques in therapy at New York University. Her clinical expertise includes work with the Deaf community, LGBTQI youth, and the intergenerational transmission of trauma, with a particular interest in non-verbal trauma transmission. Dr. Long has completed EMDR training at the Parnell Institute and is known for her presentations at national and international conferences on attunement within relational dyads, parent/infant treatments, and the integration of creative arts in psychotherapy. Kristin is also the co-founder of Empowerment Life Skills Coaching, supporting individuals in building life skills, improving home organization, and strengthening executive functioning. She is a proud member of WPATH.

The Parkmore Institute has virtual offices in Wilmington Delaware, USA.  However, it is currently expanding and welcomes applications from prospective Doctoral Candidates, as well as potential Faculty and Fellows, from all parts of the world.
